Just a Prototype 

Created as an exploration in typography, this poster and book celebrate and promote the work of inventor Simone Giertz. The typographic palette, colors, language, and image treatments are all carefully curated to evoke Giertz’s signature wit and do-it-yourself attitude, while maintaining separation from her existing core branding.

Completed in 2021 under the guidance of Maureen Weiss as part of the Graphic Design MA program at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Alongside designing the book’s layout, I spent time researching Giertz’s inventions and YouTube videos to custom-write project descriptions that accurately convey the nature of each featured invention in a tone reminiscent of Giertz’s signature witty humor.
