Ky Chevalier is a designer, communicator, and local enigma based in Burlington, Vermont, where they are currently a Junior Graphic Designer and Champ Enthusiast at ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain.

Formerly, Ky crafted multimedia graphics and wrangled webpages as Multimedia Design Intern at the University of Vermont Gund Institute for Environment, a research institution that brings together scientists, students, and leaders to solve the world’s critical environmental issues. Ky has also worked as Layout Editor at The Vermont Cynic and newsletter intern at the Center for Research on Vermont, and has partnered with the National Food Access and COVID Research Team, Vanish Works, and the Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District.

Ky graduated from the University of Vermont in 2021 with a degree in Public Communication and American Sign Language. During their time at UVM, Ky completed novel research interrogating the role of the female body in horror video games, earning a Distinguished Undergraduate Research Award and Student Research Conference Competitive Session Award.

In 2022, Ky completed their Master’s of Art (MA) in Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Their thesis exhibition, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, critically examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the visual language of tabletop roleplay games.

When Ky is not in the studio, they can be found petting dogs, hunting for cryptids, or playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Ky's favorite typeface is Degular and their favorite person is their dog, Kito.
